Sweet Potato Veggie Burger + Pregnancy Photo Journey

Getting my 'pre baby' body back is not as difficult as I had expected it to be (all thanks to nursing and healthy eating), but the body itself is not the same. Everything is just...softer. I have not started working out yet (5 weeks pp), but will be getting back to it this week. The weight is gone, but the muscle tone is definitely not back...there is a LOT of work to do, and I'm actually looking forward to it. There's just something about the way you feel after a great sweat session, know what I mean?

Even more important than exercise, is having a healthy diet; it plays a major part in your heath (inside and out). Healthy eating doesn't mean boring eating, and finding new recipes is challenging and fun - to me! I came across a recipe for a sweet potato veggie burger and knew I had to try it out. I decided to make these burgers for lunch yesterday, and they turned out to be delicious, and SO simple. These are definitely going to be a new staple in our house. Even my burger-loving hubby thought they were delish! I opted to have mine without a bun and only topped with avocado, but would be great with any toppings you prefer.

Since I will be kicking off my workouts this week, I thought I'd share my pregnancy photo journey with you all. It's amazing what the body goes through, isn't it?

  2. You look great for 5 weeks pp! You remind me of myself during pregnancy, all belly (I did notice my booty getting bigger too though lol). And nursing definitely helps so much as long as you continue to eat healthy. Oh and I understand what u mean by everything being softer/different! I was pretty shocked! Did u wear a belly bandit. Also how much weight did u gain total in your pregnancy?

    1. Thank you, Luba! I was shocked at the "softness" too...I did wear a belly bandit in the beginning, but it quickly became too big - so I just left it off. Plus, it didn't seem to stay in place very well; I probably only wore it for a total of 10 hours - ha!

  3. You are back to being tiny but your belly wasn't huge so no surprise lol. I know I won't have a problem shedding the weight after this third pregnancy, but I am concerned about my stomach muscles since my belly is sooo stretched out right now at 36 wks. I really want to get a belly binder this time.

    1. You look great, Francis! Can't believe it's your third - you look so small! I wouldn't suggest the belly bandit - as I was telling Luba, mine quickly became too big and it didn't stay in place at all!

  4. You do look great! I am super excited to try this recipe. My husband recently went meat-free and this sounds like something to spruce up his plain old sweet potatoes!

  5. You were such a cute prego and you look amazing now!! I can totally relate with what you're dealing with as far as shedding the pregnancy pounds but being left with a slightly different body... soft is the perfect word to describe it and I'm pretty sure my hips haven't realized they can go back to normal yet ;/ (I really shouldn't be complaining since I'm sitting here with a bowl of ice cream to my right) oops.... Anyways, I should really take you up on those strolls you mentioned on IG, have you ever walked Upper Back Bay in Newport?

  6. You look amazing!! I know what you mean about the "softness" and things just not being the same. My son is almost 9months and although I'm at my pre-preg weight I don't think I look the same at. all.

Can't wait to hear about your routine and how its all going!
